These terms and conditions are for www.gwc.org.uk and all online services accessed via any of the user portals (hereby referred to as the GWC website). By accessing and using the material provided you agree to be bound by these user terms and conditions.

Your Obligations
You agree that you will only use the GWC website in a manner that is consistent with these user terms and conditions and in such a way as to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including child protection and data.

Your use of the GWC website carries with it no rights in relation to copyright, trade and service marks or any other intellectual property rights owned by or licensed to George Watson’s College. You agree not to display or use in any manner the George Watson’s College logo or otherwise infringe any intellectual property rights owned by or licensed to George Watson’s College.
However we also respect the intellectual property of others. If you believe that a copy of your work is available on the GWC website without your consent or that any copyright infringement has occurred, please inform us giving details of the copyright protected work in question, where it is referred to on the GWC website, and your contact details. Please deliver this information to the Head of Communications, George Watson’s College, Colinton Road, Edinburgh EH10 5EG.
Access to the GWC Website
We agree to use our reasonable endeavours to maintain the GWC website in a fully operational condition. However we cannot guarantee that this will always be the case and access to the services may be suspended, restricted or terminated at any time. We reserve the right at any time and without any notice or explanation to suspend, restrict, reduce or terminate your access to the GWC website for any reason.
Changes in Content
The nature of a website is that content will change regularly. We will use reasonable endeavours to ensure data or information posted by us is accurate and to correct any errors or omissions as soon as practicable after being notified of them. George Watson’s College cannot guarantee that links to other websites will not be broken nor can we accept any responsibility nor do we endorse the content of any other website.
Exclusions of Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, we exclude liability for any defects or faults that may exist in or on the GWC website or for loss of data, arising from your use of, or inability to access the GWC website even where any such loss arises through our negligence.
We give no warranty or representation regarding the value and integrity of goods and services offered by third parties through the GWC website. Your dealings with, and interest in goods and services found via the GWC website are solely between you and the third party supplier of such goods and services. The suppliers will supply on their own standard terms and conditions and you should check that you agree to such terms and conditions before placing an order. We can accept no liability for any goods or services provided by third party suppliers. We will not be responsible for any loss or damage that may arise from any such dealing even where such loss or damage arises from our negligence, save where such loss or damage cannot be excluded by law.
To the extent permitted by law, you specifically agree that George Watson’s College is not responsible for or liable to you or anyone else for any threatening, defamatory, libellous, obscene, offensive or illegal conduct of any other party or you or any infringement of another's rights, including intellectual property rights.
We do not give any warranty that the GWC website is free from viruses or anything else which may have a harmful effect on any technology.
In no event shall we be liable for any loss of profit, revenues, goodwill, opportunity, business, anticipated savings or other indirect or consequential loss of any kind in contract, delict (including negligence) or otherwise arising out of any use of the GWC website, save where such liability cannot be excluded by law. We do not exclude any liability for death or personal injury caused through our negligence.
We may also forward contact details where a complaint arises concerning your use of the GWC website and where the use is deemed by us to be illegal or inconsistent with these user terms and conditions to the relevant authorities.
Modifications to our Terms and Conditions
We may modify these user terms and conditions by publishing the modified user terms and conditions on the GWC website. Any modifications shall take effect five days after posting on the website. If any provision of these terms and conditions is held to be unlawful, invalid or unenforceable, that provision shall be deemed severed and the validity and enforceability of the remaining provisions of these user terms and conditions shall not be affected.
Governing Law
These user terms and conditions are governed by and to be construed in accordance with the laws of Scotland. Any dispute arising out of the interpretation, validity or performance of, or otherwise in connection with these user terms and conditions shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts. In using the site I have read and I agree to be bound by the GWC website user terms and conditions.
